IMI Accreditation continually evolves to meet the changing needs of the industry, with each IMI Accreditation valid for three years, after which time an individual is required to undertake a new assessment either at the same level, next career level or a different route in order to prove their current competence
Reaccreditation can be achieved in two ways, dependent on route:
•AOM – Update Modules
Full Assessment involves the completion of all practical and knowledge based assessments at each level. An individual can successfully complete a full assessment within 6 months of the expiry date on their IMI Accreditation.
Update modules are individual ‘bite-size’ assessment modules that allow technicians to build on their proven competence and providing exemptions from some modules and allow for assessment throughout the 3 year validity period, avoiding reassessment in some skills and disciplines. The Update Modules can be taken together or separately any time during the individual’s accreditation period. Re-accrediting through Update Modules provides flexibility and control over the assessment process and enables time and cost savings.
The following routes are available for reaccreditation through IMI Accreditation Update Modules:
An individual could use the time for re-accreditation to build their skills and ability and demonstrate their competence at a higher career level in their chosen route. A full assessment is required to move up to the next career level. To find out more information about the career levels available, select the specific accreditation route to see the levels.
